Q. How do I get started ?


A. All you need to get started is an email address.
Please click here faxfx.net, fill in your email address and click on sign up.
You will now receive an activation email in order for us to confirm your email address and allocate your fax number to your email address.
Please click on the Accept button in the email to confirm your details and receive your fax number.

 

Q. How do I receive a fax ?


A. All faxes sent to your 086 fax number will be delivered to your email inbox.
There will be a PDF attachment sent along with the email.
The PDF attachment is the fax that the sender has faxed to you.
Open the PDF attachment to view your fax.

 

Q. How do I send a fax ?


A. When you have received a 086 fax number from us, you will need to activate the FaxOut service in order to send faxes from your pc to any fax number world wide.
To activate the FaxOut service please click here faxfx.net/fxadmin/ and log in with your details as contained in your welcome email (If you have do not have your welcome email, please send a blank email to to retrieve your details).


When logged in please click on the FaxOut icon and follow the 5 easy steps to activate the FaxOut service.
When these steps are completed you can send faxes using one of the following methods:

 

Print2Fax:

  1. Open up a Microsoft Word Document.
  2. Select FILE in the toolbars menu, then select PRINT.
  3. This brings up the print options screen.
  4. Then select the FAXPL@TFORM printer in the printer selection drop down box, and press PRINT.
  5. This brings up the recipient information screen.
  6. There you enter the recipient’s name and number, and click on the add button.
  7. If you would like to send a cover sheet, make sure the cover sheet tick box is ticked.
  8. Once done, click send fax.

 

Email2Fax:

  1. Create a new email and enter the full 10 digit number in the " To " field i.e.
    [email protected] or [email protected]
  2. Enter a subject for your own reference.
  3. The Body of your email will be the coversheet.
  4. Attach the doc you want to send and it will be sent as a fax to the supplied fax number.

 

Q. Is receiving faxes (Fax2Email) really free ? Will it stay a FREE service ?


A. If you choose a FaxFX number (086) you don't pay a cent. NO SETUP , NO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. This service will remain FREE and there is no limit to the number and size of faxes received.

 

Q. Is sending faxes via email also free ?


A. Print2Fax, unfortunately is NOT FREE. The FaxOut service is completely pre-paid so there are no unexpected bills from us. You will need credits (1 credit = 1 Rand) to send faxes.

 

Q. How can I buy more FaxOut credits?


A. Please log in here faxfx.net/fxadmin/ and click on the “Buy More Credits” button.
You can either make a direct deposit or EFT(Electronic Funds Transfer), or pay via credit card.

In order to make a direct deposit:
Please select the “direct deposit” option (Where you will see the banking details), and specify how many credits you would like to purchase, once you select “pay now” and select one of the following vouchers, it will generate a unique reference number which you will use as a reference when you make your deposit.

 

Q. How much does it cost to send a fax using FaxOut?


A. The costs involved when sending a fax depends on many factors. If you send to 086 numbers, you will be charged at R1.80 per minute. Sending faxes to land line numbers are charged at R0.80 per minute. Sending faxes internationally is the Telkom (http://www.telkom.co.za/common/AugFiling/international_list.html) rate plus 40c.

Q. Do I need to install any special software ?


A. The FAX is sent to you as a PDF Document (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader), TIFF File or PS File attached to an email. Most operating systems have a default viewer application installed.

 

Q. How long do I have to wait for a fax number ?


A. There's no delay. The moment you complete the sign-up process the number is allocated and activated, ready to receive faxes and send them to your email.

 

Q. If I take a 086 number and don't use it will it remain available?


A. No. We reserve the right to reclaim a number if there has been no usage for 60-days. You will receive a warning email prior to the number being reclaimed. As long as you receive at least one fax every 60-days the number will remain yours.

 

Q. How to Register if you don't have internet access ?


Please send a blank email to which will automatically invite the email address you are sending from.

 

Q. How to Accept/Activate your account via email?


A. Please Send an email with 'accept' in the subject line to from the email account that had been invited. This will accept the invitation and send the welcome email, containing your fax number.

 

Q. If this is free how can you provide me with a sustainable service ?


A. FaxFX earns revenue through a rebate system from Telkom for calls made to the allocated numbers. This revenue is sufficient for FaxFX to support this fax reception service at no charge to the end user, yet still delivering a corporate level service.
